It takes courage to follow your heart, especially when it means doing something different from what you are doing now. Many people feel stuck in their current situations because doing something different may not seem as secure, requires change, and may not be supported by others.
But what if taking a step forward to follow your heart leads you to something better than you could have imagined? Unfortunately, the fear of change cripples many of us. This fear often comes with stories like "But what will people say?", "My family won't love me anymore", "What if I fail?", "What if I lose everything I've built?", and "I'm too old, to start over".
All these stories, and others that your mind/ego makes up, are attempts to keep you safe, especially because your nervous system is being triggered by a host of "what ifs" and a limiting belief hidden deep in your subconscious mind, needing to be released. The most common limiting belief that most of us have grown up to believe is 'I am not good enough', which really is far from the truth.
Are you willing to take the courageous path to slowly let go of the thoughts holding you back and move forwards to follow your heart? You won't know unless you try. The courage you gather will be the catalyst for the confidence you seek.
If there was nothing to fear in life, what would be the first change you would make, knowing it would make you happier than you are now?
I invite you, in the week ahead, to start thinking about a different way of living—building a life that aligns with your goals, your vision for yourself, and that lights you up every time you think about it.
Recently, I wrote a list of my goals for the remainder for 2024, and within seven days, it started to come to life. One of the goals was to move closer to the beach. After considering moving interstate, I was led to an inspection at a place called "The Beach House," and within 48 hours, I had signed a lease.
I've been interested in the wellness space for a while since becoming a mindset coach and yoga teacher. For the rest of this year, my focus is to become the healthiest I have been in my life. The Beach House is a place ingrained with wellness, so it was a no brainer to make the move, given it's directly aligned to my personal values.
Oh, and I'm thrilled to share that I'll be teaching yoga again. It's incredibly fulfilling to be able to make a difference in a space that's so close to my heart—supporting people with disabilities through NDIS.
This experience reaffirms that with commitment and confidence, anything is achievable. These are just some examples that I am sharing with you as context for what truly is possible once you take the leap towards happiness.
To lead with confidence and trust that you are on the right path may require taking a different route, and that's perfectly okay. Remember, you deserve to achieve all your dreams, no matter what they are. Creating a life that brings you happiness will be worth every effort in the end, I PROMISE :)
Until next week take care, be kind to yourself and remember you matter.
